WHY CHROMITE FLOUR CAN BE USED FOR FOUNDRY COATING?
Chromite flour is also named chromite powder,iron chromite flour/powder,iron chrome flour/powder or chrome power/flour.
It is a kind natural mineral ore,main component is Cr2O3,origin mainly from south africa,Oman,Zimbabwe etc.
Why chromite flour can be used for producing foundry coating(especially steel casting coating and iron casting coating),because it has the following performance:
1.Chromite flour can effectively prevent casting from adhering sand and improve the performance of castings.
2.Chromite flour has high refractoriness about 1900℃，stable at high temperature,then it can increase fire resisitance of coating.
3.Chromite flour can be used as chill material,then the foundry coating made from chromite flour can improve chilling rate of castings.
4.Chromite flour is resistant to corrosive glasses and slags.
5.Chromite flour own high hardness,making casting coating with higher wear resistance.
