    Chromite Sand AFS40-45

Chromite sand AFS40-45 is a special sand for casting. It has a wide range of applications in multiple industrial fields and can be divided into the following two categories:
    1. Foundry industry
‌Surface sand for large steel castings‌
It is used to prevent sand from sticking to the surface of castings, especially suitable for stainless steel, alloy steel and carbon steel castings.
Its high refractoriness and chilling properties can improve the surface quality of castings and prevent defects such as pores and veins.
    ‌Casting coating raw materials‌
After grinding, it is added to the coating as a refractory aggregate to enhance the refractoriness and permeability of the coating.
    ‌Chiller material replaces chilled iron‌
Partially replaces metal chilled iron in sand molds or sand cores to accelerate the cooling of castings and improve internal density and strength.
Sand mold and lost foam casting‌
It is used in conjunction with water glass self-hardening sand, furan resin sand and other processes for the molding of large thick-walled steel castings and optimizes the cooling sequence.
In some scenarios, it replaces silica sand to avoid sand inclusion and sand sticking problems.
    2. Other industrial fields
    ‌Drainage sand raw materials‌
Used for ladle drainage in the metallurgical industry to ensure uniform flow of molten steel.
    Ceramic and glass industry‌
Used as a ceramic material additive or glass colorant raw material.
    Refractory materials and chemicals‌
Used in the production of refractory materials such as magnesia-chrome bricks, and the preparation of chromium oxide green in the chemical industry.
    Particle size adaptability description
The coarse particle size characteristics of AFS40-45 make it more suitable for scenes requiring high air permeability and high chilling efficiency (such as large castings), while fine particle size models (such as 200 mesh and above) are mostly used in glass, precision casting coatings and other fields.
