With development of the architecture and interior design, all wall covering including tiles, bricks and paving block usually need color for choosing.pigment is added during manufacturing.

Chromite powder always has relationship with brown pigment of ceramics, mixed with zinc iron chromate.Because when they are calcined more than 1000℃,chromite powder is stable, which makes chromite powder workable in ceramics.

For example, when chromite powder mixed with iron oxide under 1:1 to a kind pigment,it will become black when calcined to 1200℃。if put hydrated iron Oxide with chromite powder under 3:1,then get traditional brown color;if mix hydrated iron oxide with chromite powder under 1:1,after calcined, can get chocolate brown which is a special color for ceramics.

When chromite powder is used together with Zn and aluminum oxide,we can get pink pigment.Under low temperature, works with antimony and titanium oxides, chromite powder will appear yellow-orange color.Classic green paints can be got from chromite powder only.

Gray pigment, especially the gray pigment used in bricks and paving block, can be get from chromite powder easily.because its heat resistance, also used as glazes for roof tile.

Besides,it is also easily to get color between light gray to black via controlling sizes of chromite powder.

The mer weight of chromite powder if ceramic is about 10%,and the sizes used for ceramic glazes is chromite powder 45microns or 325mesh.
